Coveralls for auto body, paint prep and spray booth crews

Paint and sanding dust ends up on skin, hair and the clothes you drive home in. A hooded coverall keeps it off. We stock disposable suits for spraying and prep, and a washable suit for painters who wear one every day.

The hazards

What shop crews are up against

Overspray

Atomized paint drifts and settles on whoever is holding the gun, on arms, shoulders and neck.

Sanding dust

Body filler, primer and old finish turn to fine dust that gets into hair and clothing, and into the paint job if it's on you when you enter the booth.

Skin contact

Coatings, solvents and cleaners on bare arms are a fast route to irritation. Full coverage matters at the wrists and neck.

Carrying it home

Work clothes that go home with paint and dust on them are a problem for the household, and for you.

Reusable or disposable

Two ways to suit up a painter

Both work. The right one depends on how often your crew sprays and how you want to handle laundry.

Disposable (microporous or SMS)

  • Fresh suit every job, thrown away when it's covered in paint
  • No laundering
  • Right for occasional painters, prep crews and visitors

Reusable (Ultra Spray Suit)

  • Same suit, washed and worn again
  • Cotton back for comfort over a long shift
  • Hook-and-loop wrists and ankles, M through 4XL

Know the limits

  • A coverall is not respiratory protection. Choose a respirator for the coatings you spray, and follow their safety data sheets.
  • Our coveralls and the Ultra Spray Suit are not chemical protective clothing.
  • Not flame resistant. Do not wear near open flame, sparks or hot work.
  • Only the microporous coverall is antistatic and certified (Type 5 & 6). The other suits are not.
Questions

Automotive and paint coverall FAQ

Which coverall is best for spraying automotive paint?

The hooded microporous coverall is our first pick. It stops fine overspray, and its fabric is antistatic to EN 1149-5. Painters who want a suit they can wash use the Ultra Spray Suit.

What should I wear for sanding?

SMS. It stops fine dry dust and breathes better than a film suit. Pair it with the respirator your safety plan requires.

Are your coveralls chemical resistant?

No. They keep overspray and dust off skin and clothes. For respiratory protection, garments and gloves, follow the safety data sheets for the coatings you use. Let us know if you need something we don't carry.

Do you have larger sizes?

Yes. Disposable suits go up to 4XL, and so does the Ultra Spray Suit.

Can we try the suits first?

Yes. Tell us what your painters wear now and we'll send comparable samples at no charge.

Keep the paint on the car, not the painter.
